Most racers aim to keep their engines running at lower-than-normal temperatures to achieve increased horsepower. Many racers typically use plain water instead of coolant, which can lead to rapid corrosion of the radiator. AMSOIL DOMINATOR® Coolant Boost is specifically engineered for racers, significantly lowering engine temperatures, reducing warm-up time, and providing superior corrosion protection.
Formulated with exclusive tiered-surfactant technology, AMSOIL DOMINATOR® Coolant Boost enhances heat transfer within the radiator and cylinder heads quickly and efficiently. This results in reduced operating temperatures, improved engine performance, increased horsepower, and shorter warm-up times in cold weather or before races. Additionally, DOMINATOR® Coolant Boost contains a powerful blend of corrosion inhibitors that protect radiators, heater cores, water pumps, cylinder heads, engine blocks, and intake manifolds from potential corrosion damage.

Engine Warm-Up Time Reduction Test
A test was conducted to measure the ability of DOMINATOR® Coolant Boost to reduce engine warm-up time. The coolant was mixed with water in a V8 engine, which was then run until the coolant temperature reached 120°F (48.9°C) or 180°F (82.2°C), with the ambient temperature maintained at 30°F (-1°C) to simulate winter conditions. The results showed that DOMINATOR® Coolant Boost effectively reduced engine warm-up time and allowed the cabin to heat up faster in cold weather.

Engine Temperature Reduction Test
The temperature reduction capability was tested on a Chevy 350 cubic inch (approx. 5,735 cc) engine with aluminum block and cylinder heads, mounted on a dynamometer. During each test phase, the engine was run at 4,500 RPM until the coolant temperature stabilized.

Aluminum Alloy Corrosion Test
The aluminum alloy corrosion test (ASTM D4340) measures the corrosion protection in modern, high-performance, and racing engines with aluminum cylinder heads. Aluminum casting samples were heated to 275°F (130°C) at 28 psi and exposed to coolant for 1 week. The recommended maximum weight loss is 1.0 mg. Reduced corrosion extends the life of engines and cooling systems for both racing and regular vehicles.

Glassware Corrosion Test
The ASTM D1384 corrosion test uses six types of metals commonly found in automotive cooling systems. The metals were submerged in coolant for 336 hours at 190°F (87.8°C). Corrosion resistance is measured by the weight loss of each metal.

Simulated Corrosion Test
The ASTM D2570 simulated corrosion test uses six types of metals from automotive cooling systems, exposed to water formulated to simulate hard and corrosive conditions with degraded coolant. The metals were tested for 1,064 hours at 190°F (87.8°C), with the coolant maintained at real-world flow rates and temperatures. Corrosion resistance is measured by the weight loss of each metal.

Applications
AMSOIL DOMINATOR® Coolant Boost can be used in racing vehicles that use plain water as a coolant, as well as in regular vehicles by mixing it with AMSOIL Antifreeze & Coolant.
Directions for Use

Before use: Allow the engine to cool before adding Coolant Boost to the cooling system.

Shake the bottle and calculate the proper amount before pouring.

After adding, start the engine and let it run for approximately 15 minutes.

Service Life

Water-only mix: Replace DOMINATOR® Coolant Boost every 1 year.

Mix with AMSOIL Antifreeze & Coolant: Replace every 1 year or 30,000 miles (48,280 km), whichever comes first, or follow the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendation.
