Exceptional Flat-Tappet Camshaft Wear Protection<\/strong>
Classic and high-performance vehicles often use flat-tappet camshafts, where the lifters and cam lobes are in constant contact. This movement generates heat and friction, leading to potential wear on the cam lobes. Such wear can negatively affect valve operation, resulting in reduced power and efficiency.
Unlike other parts of the engine that use pressure lubrication<\/strong>, the camshaft area typically relies on splash lubrication<\/strong>, which provides less direct protection.
AMSOIL Z-ROD is fortified with a high level of ZDDP (Zinc Dialkyldithiophosphate)<\/strong> to help prevent metal-to-metal wear, including scuffing caused by engine operation.<\/p>\n
