It also improves fuel efficiency and delivers excellent stability under high heat, meeting the latest CK-4 diesel engine oil specification.

Wear typically occurs on piston rings and cylinder walls, leading to increased oil consumption and decreased combustion chamber compression, which in turn affects engine power and fuel usage. This formula features low volatility (burn-off), meaning it resists excessive oil loss during operation. Tests show that AMSOIL Signature Series Max-Duty reduces oil loss by up to 76% compared to the CK-4 standard.

AMSOIL Signature Series Max-Duty resists thermal breakdown far better than competing oils. It also maintains excellent cold-flow properties at sub-zero temperatures, ensuring quick circulation and optimal protection during cold starts.
Outstanding Viscosity Control & Engine Cleanliness
Formulated with premium synthetic base oils, this oil resists oxidation and thickening from soot contamination—key contributors to increased oil viscosity. It also contains advanced detergents that keep engines clean from soot and sludge, and dispersants that prevent particle agglomeration. This allows contaminants to be effectively removed by the oil filter. Its high Viscosity Index (VI) ensures minimal viscosity change across wide temperature ranges.

Compatibility with Other Oils
AMSOIL Signature Series Max-Duty is compatible with both synthetic and conventional oils. However, mixing with other oils may reduce its performance and shorten its service life. AMSOIL does not guarantee extended drain intervals when mixed with other oils. The use of aftermarket oil additives is also not recommended.
Service Life
AMSOIL Signature Series Max-Duty Synthetic Diesel Oil allows for extended drain intervals, depending on the engine type:

Diesel Engines: Up to 3x the OEM-recommended interval, not exceeding 60,000 miles (90,000 km), 600 hours, or 1 year

Turbocharged Diesel Engines: Up to 2x the OEM-recommended interval, not exceeding 25,000 miles (40,000 km) or 1 year

Gasoline Engines: Up to 2x the OEM-recommended interval, not exceeding 15,000 miles (22,500 km) or 1 year
Important Notes
Extended drain intervals are not recommended for:

Engines running more than 10% biodiesel (B10), ethanol, or biodiesel blends above 15% (B15)

Caterpillar C13/C15 (model years 2007–2009)

Dodge, Ford, and GM turbo diesel engines (model years 2007–2010)
